With the holidays rapidly aproaching, I received this email about something which never crossed my mind. We have people out there, tons of them fighting for our freedom. What if we said thankyou during the holidays. Would that not be FANTASTIC?
This is the email, short and sweet!
Subject: A great idea
Date: Thu, 1 Nov 2007 10:24:55 -0400
Hi, Thought this was a good idea and worth passing on.
When making out your Christmas card list this year, why not include one to:
A Recovering American Soldier
c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Georgia Avenue, NW
Washington, DC 20307-5001
If you think this is a great idea, too, please forward this to your email
friends
Thanks!
There you have it. Let’s all let the servicemen know we are thinking about them and are thankful for protecting this GREAT country of ours.
Too often we forget why our contry is what it is and HOW it remains this way. Let’s all give thanks to the troops who protect us and our freedom!! GOD BLESS the US FORCES! THANKS for all you do and have done through the years. You will always be heroes to us!

I have entered a challenge. The idea is for 100 people to raise 100 dollars each. The completed challenge will raise a total of $10,000.00 for charity to build a library for underprivledged children in impoverished countries. I decided that 100 bucks was not enough. My personal goal is $250.00. If you are reading this, I ask for your help to reach this goal.
Let me explain why this means so much to me. My friend, Michael Nobile asked me to create a site for him to help him raise money for the people of Nepal. The start of the site can be viewed at http://www.everestforlife.org Mikes plan is to climb Mt. Everest to raise money for this impoverished country. He has seen the children and the families. He has witnessed what they go through. Mike went so far as to put his own money out to have his Sherpa visit the United States and spend time here with him.
Now you know why I am so interested in helping children in other countries even though there is help needed here in our own. My answer to that is we have money here, they do not where they are. Please help raise the needed funds to help these kids learn.
I have often said that todays children are tomorrows leaders. That is true in the United States, but other countries may never see the TRUE leaders if they are not able to read. Please help a future Einstein, Dr. Martin Luther Kiing, Ghandi, Da Vinci reach that plateau. A couple of bucks is all it takes to help. http://www.firstgiving.com/walleyg is where you give a couple of your hard earned dollars to help these children. You can also use the link on the sidebar. That shows how close my goal is and the donors who have helped.
Thank you in advance for your helpl
May God Bless You for anything you do. Donate or not!

Todays Children ARE our FUTURE!
Congenital Heart Defects?
A couple years ago I had contact with a wonderful gentleman on the internet. His name is Dr. Mani Sivasubramanian. Dr. Mani is a heart surgeon in India who raises funds to perform operations on children with CHD.
CHD Blog
What does this have to do with you?
Stop for a second and think about this. These children Dr. Mani saves through surgery are the leaders of tomorrow! Think about that……What if Albert Einstein or Leonardo daVinci had never survived their youth due to CHD? Where would the world be now? How about any of the others throughout history who made MAJOR contributions to the world?
Back in the early 70’s when I took my first class in computer basic language, the computer took up a complete wall in the classroom. The computer terminals were larger than the desks we sat at. Writing a simple “Hello World” program took line after line of code. The program was saved on a strip of pager with holes punched in it.
Because of yesterdays children, we are able to now enjoy the portability of laptop computer or even a hand held one. It’s even possible that internet may not yet exist as it does today. Your comfort of having a cell phone may not yet be possible. These are things we take for granted without thinking how they were created or by whom!
Blogathon!
Dr. Mani is having a 24 hour blogathon in which he stays up for 24 hours and posts every 30 minutes in order to raise funds and CHD awareness. Please take a moment to go to
CHD Blog
and make a donation. The size doesn’t matter since it all adds up. Dr. Mani’s goal is to raise $50,000.00 during this event.
PLEASE HELP!
Dr. Mani is an honest and generous person whom I have come to consider a trusted friend. Please go to his blog now and read what he is doing and why. Help if you are at all able.
Thank you and God Bless!
